Zac Attack

by The Merry Jaynz

/

about

This tune was likely “born” in
Cincinnati, but “grew up” in Los
Angeles. Later, in Tennessee, it
was dusted off and
experimented with, then
disappeared for a while. When I
set about recording it for real this
year, I had a solid idea of where
the song was going to go. Well,
that immediately went right out
the window. Now it sounds a bit
like an Allman Brothers tune that
got an unexpected visit from the
ghost of Jimi. I realized the bass
line - which was the basis of the
whole thing - was an Allman’s
bass line all along. Thanks,
Berry Oakley.
